From the graveyard · Bogotá · Greenggers
Doo.
A city is a community. We wanted to help it connect.
Doo was my first real run at building a startup. At Greenggers, I helped found the company and build its Android app: a way for people to connect with their neighborhoods, nearby businesses, and each other.
That chapter also included Doo Pets, our pivot toward pets, their owners, and the veterinary clinics looking after them.
Mucho más que una red social.
The early idea went beyond a social feed. Doo gave communities a place to share reports, find information on a map, organize events, and talk about what was happening around them.
Our original videos covered everything from making a citizen report to creating a community. There were campaigns about moving through the city, and a whole series for Bogotá’s theaters.
People, places, and the things happening between them.
Your neighborhood, in your pocket.
The app also brought local commerce into that picture. In Bogotá, you could discover businesses, order food, find neighborhood groceries and pharmacies, and hear about nearby offers.

Everyday errands.
Deliveries, reservations, promotions, and payments brought neighborhood services into one app.
Finding your way.
Interactive maps and guides included shopping centers such as Calima, Cipres Plaza, and Cedritos 140.
Staying connected.
Chat, alerts, and push notifications kept the community side close at hand.

The pivot: Doo Pets.
We took the idea of connecting a community into a more focused setting: pets and the people who care for them.
Doo Pets brought together a pet’s clinical history and the relationship between its veterinary clinic and its owner. The app let people scan QR tags, carry their pet’s information with them, and connect with clinics, friends, and family.
The Doo Pets listing preserves version 1.3, dated November 2016.
A way to help them get home.
The product also supported locating a pet and reporting when someone found it. Doo Tags connected that idea to a physical QR tag; our campaign with Alejandro Riaño introduced the product in January 2016.
